AIRPORT RAIL LINK

Owner State Railway of Thailand

Main contractor Sinothai Public Company Limited.

Problem

The airport rail link project has been designed to support customers and passengers between Suwannabhumi Airport and the city center.
The initial project was designed by the Hopewell group and used double elevated line. The structures of this project start from Makasan up to Rama IX, which is more than 2,500 meters.

This project had been changed to a new line concept and the existing construction can not be used.

Our solutions We had to demolish all the existing construction (elevated beams, supports, columns...). To accomplish this work, high technology and important safety procedure have been taken. The cut of large pieces of reinforced concrete was made by WIRE SAW. And they were moved away by over 250 TONS cranes. During the construction period, more than 350 cuts or 58,000 tons of existing structures have to be done within 3 months.

The demolishing work had to be done on top of railway in use, so all safety was provided in this project.

REENTECH also participates in the new construction project going up to Suvarnabhumi Airport.

REENTECH has supplied CHEMICAL BOLTS, to anchor the re-bar of the rail support and also the station. From the Suvarnabhumi Airport to Rama IX, there were more than 180.000 pairs.
